Gender-Based Analysis with an Intersectional Perspective

Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA Plus) is a method and analytical tool used to examine how a policy, program, project, or initiative may have different impacts on individuals or groups based on various factors such as age, gender, sex, origin, social status, and more.

It aims to better understand inequalities in order to design equitable decisions, solutions, recommendations, and actions.

Participatory gender audit

A Participatory Gender Audit is a process that assesses the extent to which an organization integrates gender equality into its policies, practices, and institutional culture. It is participatory because it involves members of the organization—management, staff, and partners—in the analysis, reflection, and identification of areas for improvement.

Its objective is to identify strengths, gaps, and actions needed to strengthen gender equality within the organization. It contributes to creating healthier, more equitable, and inclusive workplaces.

The Participatory Gender Audit (PGA) is conducted in collaboration with Clausework, a workplace law firm founded by Rika Sawatsky, employment lawyer.

WORKPLACE AUDIT

Workplace audits are social audits that look at how decisions are actually made, how discretion is exercised, and how formal and informal structures impact people over time.

Because social audits examine systems and structures, they are effective across organizational sizes, sectors, and levels — from small local teams to large, multi-jurisdictional organizations.

Social audits triangulate information gathered across multiple sources, including document review, interviews, focus groups, and workshops. The process is participatory and identifies patterns, reconciles divergent perspectives, and reduces the risk of overweighting outliers or dominant narratives.

The Workplace Audit (WA) is conducted in collaboration with Clausework, a workplace law firm founded by Rika Sawatsky, employment lawyer.

PRO BONO

Expertise in equality should not be reserved only for organizations with financial resources.

The pro bono commitment aims to support organizations or collectives that contribute to social transformation but face structural funding constraints.

It is an act of professional solidarity: placing skills at the service of causes that advance justice, without a profit motive and with the same rigor and standards applied to contractual mandates.

Each year, a bank of hours is reserved for the implementation of this type of pro bono mandate
